Welcome to Fungi World

Fungi World is a photographic website showing what I hope are good quality photographs of predominantly British fungi. (495 to date). I have also included some photographs taken in the Republic of Ireland.

It would give me great satisfaction if the fungi shown on this website are appreciated for their beauty which in turn will hopefully promote better awareness and respect for this natural Kingdom.

In order to identify fungi accurately the habitat, dimensions (including cap and stem), colours of cap and stem, gills (colour of and structure), odour of the fungi, season, and possible chemical and microscopic tests should be carried out. It is not possible to accurately identify fungi from photographs alone.

I must therefore stress that I am a photographer and not a Mycologist and visitors to this site must understand that there may be errors in identification and that this site should not be viewed as an encyclopedia!


Should anyone wish to purchase prints - prices can be given on request. N.B. The photographs included in this website are totally natural and have not been digitally enhanced other than cropped to appropriate sizes.
